The Golf Club At Whitehawk Ranch, is a Resort, Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course located in Clio, California. Whitehawk Ranch Golf Club is operated as a public golf facility. The Golf Club is open for Whitehawk Ranch Property Owners and the general public.
Opened in 1996, Whitehawk Ranch Golf Club in Plumas County, Calif. is a remote course about an hour's drive from Reno and Lake Tahoe, set on nearly 1,000 acres that once served as a cattle ranch. The course was designed by Dick Bailey.
Set within the Mohawk Valley, the course's meadow holes play around native grasses and wildflowers, while the forested holes wind through tall pines, cedars, firs and aspens. Whitehawk Ranch Golf Club features a handful of short par 4s on the front nine, culminating with a 310-yard ninth hole.
Whitehawk Ranch Golf Club's back nine gets a little longer, with no par 4s less than 415 yards from the championship tees, but has two reachable par 5s. Whitehawk Ranch Golf Club plays to a maximum of 6,941 yards and a par of 71. The course rating is 72.0 with a slope rating of 128.
The course was cut from a forest and has pine trees lining all its fairways. Some mounding that can cause uneven lies. Sand bunkers rarely come into play, but almost all the holes feature a thick native grass rough defining their fairways. The greens are large, undulating and fast. Water hazards (creeks, streams, lakes, and ponds) come into play on eleven holes. The most scenic hole is #18, a 558-yard, par 5, featuring a dogleg right fairway that is highlighted by both a target bunker on the left side, plus a sulfur creek flowing alongside the full length of the fairway. This hole also provides a scenic view of Eureka Peak. The most difficult hole is #10, a 464-yard, par 4, requiring a tee shot into the prevailing wind while avoiding the sulfur creek on left and the mounding on the right, then an approach shot to a green protected by sand bunkers in front and to the left.

Definitely one of the best mountain courses in Northern California. I have played this course many times and and have taken many guests to play it. Everyone I know that has played this course loves it. Not the most difficult, very playable for the average golfer but tough enough for anyone from the back two sets of tees.

Whitehawk is the best course in the Graeagle area, edging out the Dragon. Everyone that plays this course LOVES it -- very serene with brooks that dribble through a number of holes. the course is very playable and those that are on their game will score well. Some beautiful water holes.

A very pretty course that is well maintained. The fairways are exceptional and while the greens are a bit slow, they are very true. The only criticism would be the overall condition of the bunkers. While they are attractively maintained, they tend to be quite firm on the flat and extremely soft on the sides. Overall, I would rate course a must play while you are in the area.
